I am not really sure if that what the question asks for, but I know it is right; By simplifying them to the smallest value of fraction possible, if the 2 simplified fractions are equal then you proved the equity of both fractions. For Example; Prove that [tex] \frac{500}{1000} [/tex] is equal to [tex] \frac{800}{1600} [/tex] Solution: Simplify; [tex]\frac{500}{1000}= \frac{5}{10}= \frac{1}{2}[/tex] Similarly, [tex]\frac{800}{1600}= \frac{8}{16}= \frac{1}{2}[/tex] So both are [tex]=\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
