[tex] {x}^{2} - (7 + 7)x - 49 = 0[/tex]

[tex] {x}^{2} - 7x - 7x - 49 = 0[/tex]

[tex]x(x - 7) + 7(x - 7) = 0[/tex]

[tex](x - 7)(x + 7) = 0[/tex]

NOW,

x-7=0

or,x=7

And,

x+7=0

or,x= -7

THEREFORE, x= 7, -7
