Answer: John Locke confuted the theory of the basically divine right of kings and kind of argued that all persons generally are endowed with kind of natural rights to life, liberty, and property and that rulers who fail to forfend those rights may for the most part be very abstracted by the people, perforce if compulsory, or so they thought.
