If d varies inversely as t, and d = 20 when t = 2, what is the value of t when d = -5?

Hi,

[tex]d= \dfrac{k}{t} \\ if\ d=20 \ then\ t=2\ \Rightarrow\ k=d*t=20*2=40\\ if\ d=-5\ then\ t= \dfrac{k}{d}= \dfrac{40}{-5}= -8\\ [/tex]
